What a thrilling match it was!!! India vs Srilanka!!!, and Dhoni hit a six to finish off the match in style .... bravo,, we WON !
Film stars, highest of the politicians, industry tycoons.... were all present for the big game...
the Indian squad won the cup, and we worship them.......... don't we !
The entire nation as though had come to a stand still..... witnessing 'history' being written !
Offices declaring unwritten time-offs for employees to watch the match... otherwise busy streets wearing deserted looks, as people huddled around the television sets...
enthralling attention from the entire nation !
And....
................ Anna Hazare sits on a fast ... fed up with the corruption levels and trying to make a difference to the quality of life of the Indian populace...
Ii am sure most of us would not even have glanced the news in the papers.. there will continue the casual cynical remarks during coffee breaks... lunch time... about the incorrigible nation that we are... the irresolvable corruption... the selfish netas... the traffic jams.. the lacking infrastructure.. . blah blah blah.... as a 'time pass'
- and turn the attention away towards 'more important' things in life --- that deadline to complete, the next IPL match timetable, the next date, the happenings in the lives of actors, sport stars,, other celebrities... the list goes on....
Just wondering if the people in the first topic - cricketers, movie stars, industry tycoons [social influencers ! ] - decide to give a serious thought about the nation, and join the crusade against the all pervading corruption in the country ! - it can muster enough societal will to fight against the evils besotting our society today !
aam aadmi ... and his role in anti-corruption crusade : a driving license seeker may not get the license, a ration-card requestor will not get that cooking-gas connection, a middle class employee will not get that Land development authority's permission to construct the house... [I am being cynical here too.. ! ].
Real victory will be achieved when people who can make a difference… choose to make a difference in the fields that matter to the greater good in the society !
Let us join the crusade for eradicating corruption in anywhich way we can contribute !
----- ps : this is not in anyway belittling the achievement that team India have done in this world cup. It remains to be a commendable achievement in the history of cricket !
